Flanders Contemporary Art is pleased to announce our next featured exhibitions, both opening with a reception Friday, January 19th from 6-9 p.m.

In the main gallery we will present our Tenth Annual Warehouse Show. It is one of the year's highlight shows, with hundreds of works on display by the artists represented by Flanders Contemporary Art.

Gallery visitors will have the chance to view work by local, national and international artists, in a wide spectrum of media and genres. Names like Francis Bacon, Pablo Picasso, Helen Frankenthaler will share wall space with local favorites like Thomas Rose, Louise Gillis and Jim Meyer. It's our once a year opportunity to show the many fine pieces of art we've acquired over the last year. Rarely, do gallery visitors get to see an exhibit of this caliber outside of a museum.

The exhibit will run throught April 14th.

In our back gallery, we will be featuring the recent photogravures by Judy Pfaff. Pfaff, who has exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. She recently completed these stunning photogravures with Tandem Press of Wisconsin.

Tandem, long known for it's collaborations with major contemporary artists like Italo Scanga, Sam Gilliam and William Wegman, provided Ms. Pfaff will the facilities to create these amazing photogravures, embedded with her own sense and vision of nature.

Published in small editions on delicate and carefully selected papers, the works size and subject matter vary greatly. A diptych photogravure of a wooded forest scene with a soft, serene feel, leads into a lily pad piece made up of 9 separate panels, ranging from representational to schematic, abstracted breakdowns of lily pads.

The Friday March 9th opening is in conjunction with Kellie Rae Theiss' opening of "Collecting Art-2001", a group showing of her gallery's artists. This exhibit will also run through April 14th.

Flanders Contemporary Art is located at 400 North First Avenue, first floor in the Wyman Building. Gallery hours are 10 to 5 Tuesday through Saturday, and by appointment.
