Flanders Contemporary Art

Current Exhibitions     May 31st, 2001 - July 6th, 2002

Opening Reception Friday, May 31st from 6-9pm

Main Gallery : Stanley Boxer

Graphics Gallery: Anna Marie Pavlik

Project Room: Donald Woodman

On May 31, 2002, Flanders Contemporary Art will have on display three one-person exhibitions, featuring works which span territory from painting to photography, from conceptual to sculptural.

In the main space Flanders Contemporary Art is honored to present paintings, sculpture and works on paper from the last twenty years of Stanley Boxer's renowned career

.

. The exhibition provides the opportunity to experience the work from a period in which he produced some of his strongest, most dramatic and his most ambitious art.

In the Print Gallery Anna Marie Pavlik utilizes imagery to produce prints with a high degree of technical and symbolic expertise.

A wide array of printmaking techniques aids Pavlik's exploration of the interaction between forms and textures found in the natural world.

And in the Project Room, Flanders features Donald Woodman and his series of photographs entitled Fifteen Clouds.

Combining photography, digital manipulation and printmaking processes, Woodman observes subtleties of one of nature's most elusive elements.

The opening reception for these three artists is on May 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. The exhibitions run through July 6th, 2002. Flanders Contemporary Art is located at 400 North First Avenue, first floor in the Wyman Building. Gallery hours are 10 to 5 Tuesday through Saturday, and by appointment.
