FLANDERS PRESENTS THEIR 2nd GRAND OPENING EXTRAVAGANZA ! Recent paintings by Robert Natkin Rodeo and the West, large-scale photographs by Donald Woodman and the new print suite Nine Fragments from the Delta of Venus by Judy Chicago.

Donald Woodman- Rodeo and the West is a series of Western images produced by attaching a Polaroid back onto an old Brownie-style camera. With a background in architectural, scientific and art photography, Woodman has embraced a variety of still and video photographic media during his 30-year career. Donald Woodman lives in New Mexico.

Judy Chicago- Nine Fragments from the Delta of Venus are based on the femme erotica writings of Anais Nin. The suite of nine come in a red silk heart shaped pillow box. For nearly four decades, Chicago has remained steadfast in her commitment to the power of art as a vehicle for intellectual transformation and social change and to women's right to engage in the highest level of art production. As a result, she has become a symbol for people everywhere, known and respected as an artist, writer, teacher, and humanist whose work and life are models for an enlarges definition of art, an expanded role for the artist, and women's right to freedom of expression.

 

 

Robert Natkin- Lives in Redding, Connecticut. He is the recipient of the 2004 Isador Medal for Painting and the 2004 Andrew Carnegie Prize for Painting.

These exhibitions run through December 4th, 2004.
