Flanders Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the opening of new exhibitions this December of 2002. The side gallery will be displaying the work of Thomas Paquette's contemporary landscape paintings, portrayals of here and there with varied earth bound energies and presence of time. His representations of landscapes across the world are amplified by his emotional reactions to the sites. The works are executed through loaded palettes, a characteristic style, and nostalgic compositions familiar in the works of the masters. This is an exhibition that promises vivid and vast sights.

In contrast to the work of Paquette, In the main gallery Terrence La Noue's paintings tell stories in a non-intellectual, from-the-gut way. Most pieces are worked on over the course of years, creating a history of outrageously dense colors and textures. It seems as though he has revealed the strata of numerous cultures in an archeological manner. The work encourages the viewer's eye to travel through via mysterious, intruiging mazes and paths. Terence La Noue's paint demands your focused involvement

. In the project space: A variety of prints by Andy Warhol... Well, everyone knows how fabulous those are.

The exhibitions run through January 18th, 2003.

Flanders Contemporary Art is located at 400 North First Avenue, first floor in the Wyman Building. Gallery hours are 10 to 5 Tuesday through Saturday, and by appointment. FFI: Contact Doug Flanders or Tasha Kubesh at 612-344-1700 or by email at <art@flanders-art.com>.
